Five Must Visit Fried Chicken Festivals In The South
We are always down to celebrate the awesomeness of fried chicken. And what better way to enjoy some good eatin’ and travel the south, than to plan your travel around three of our favorite fried chicken festivals. If you live in Louisianna, North or South Carolina, Tennessee or Georgia, these events might not be new to you, but we bet plenty of our readers want the details!
Atlanta’s Chicken + Beer Festival
If you’ve spent time in Georgia in the summer, you know it’s hot. Good thing this festival held in June serves ice cold beer. Look for excellent food and inspired beer pairings at this southern food-lovers event.
Charleston’s Southern Fried Challenge
This is one challenge we accept. Gather all of the best fried chicken cooks: whether its culinary students or practiced chefs, you know the food is bound to be delicious. Plus lots of music and local vendors to support.
Memphis Chicken & Beer Festival
Clearly chicken and beer is a thing. And a mighty good thing. Held in August, this fun festival benefits charity. So you’re doing something good for others… and your stomach. Get your grub on with more than 13 local restaurants.
New Orlean’s National Fried Chicken Festival
This two-day affair in September brings some of the best gourmet restaurants around to delight southern foodies. Lots of good food + music and food demos.
North Carolina’s Poultry Jubilee
Held in Rose Hill, NC in November, this event gets our vote for best down-home flavor. And it includes a beauty pageant and a 5-K run. There’s something for everyone to love.
