Fun And Games At Trophy Brewing and Taproom In Raleigh, NC

If you are a fan of beer, or just a fan of having a good time, you will definitely be a fan of at least one of Trophy Brewing’s three locations. For your food truck days with friends, pizza nights with the family, or dinner dates downtown, Trophy has a location to suit your needs. For this sunny Saturday afternoon, in particular, I decided to check out Trophy Brewery and Taproom.

Out of the three Trophy locations, the Brewery and Taproom, located on Maywood Avenue off Lake Wheeler Road, is my new personal favorite. With the majority of its picnic table seating outside, it was the perfect spot for my 60 degrees Saturday afternoon beer.

I arrived at the brewery around 2 pm and definitely did not beat the crowd, but was able to snag a parking spot across the street. I was amazed by how many others had the same plans for their Saturday afternoon. Families with kids, groups of friends and so many dogs, all are welcome at this location. The brewery even offers a space to rent out for parties; I could see a birthday celebration happening in the back room when I was there. With cornhole, card games, food and beer, you will be entertained for hours.

The bar always has twelve beers on tap, a rotating cask ale, and many beers available in both flights and growlers to take a piece of Trophy home with you. With windows to view the large brew kettles, you can take a peek at where all of the brewing magic happens before it made its way into your glass.

Each time you go will feel like a new experience, with their daily food trucks and occasional Sunday morning yoga classes, there will always be something new to try. I was lucky enough to catch the La Republica food truck when I went. Their veggie nachos went surprisingly well with my Here We Have Cashmere, a single hop IPA. (I decided to switch it up from my normal Trophy Wife IPA).

We enjoyed two rounds of beer before heading home, but will definitely be making our way back in the near future.

Trophy’s Brewery and Taproom is located at 656 Maywood Avenue, and is open Monday – Thursday from 3 pm – 12 am and Friday – Sunday from 12 pm – 2 am.
