Find Your Next Read At Two Of Raleigh’s Best Book Stores

The capital city of Raleigh is host to good food, great shopping, interesting historical sites and a diverse collection of independent bookstores. Raleigh is fortunate to be able to sustain more than one bookstore and we’re happy to support them all.

Here’s a look at three of our favorite bookstores in Raleigh.

Quail Ridge Books, Raleigh, NC

Quail Ridge has a long and storied history in Raleigh with a loyal customer base that followed them from their previous cozy location to their more expansive one located in the North Hills shopping center.  If you’re an author promoting your book, it’s a required stop on your tour. And lucky for the customers, because Quail Ridge has one of the most robust author event programs in the state.

We love this store because the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the two-story bookstore is inviting with the bright red walls to stimulate the imagination and the fun children’s section centered around a large tree has green carpet that makes you feel like you’re stepping into a garden of books. They also have one of the most thorough collections of North Carolina authors and southern fiction and non-fiction in the state.

This space is too large to be cozy but there are enough reading nooks for every bookworm to grab a quiet moment with their new read. If you love books and you’re in Raleigh, do yourself a favor and stop by. Grab a cup of coffee on your way in, there’s no cafe.

Readers Corner, Raleigh, NC

The Readers Corner is the only used book store on our list, but if you’re a book lover, you’ll find a kindred spirit in this small, cramped musty little space. Located on Hillsborough Street, right below NC State University, this store has a little bit of everything: vintage books, new hardcover trade-ins, fiction, non-fiction… You can spend hours just walking around trying to find a gem in the stacks. And you will find something because they have something for everyone.

Don’t forget to get a cup of coffee at nearby Cup-A-Joe’s before you go.
